Online Technical Talk – Health & Safety by Morne’ Oosthuizen – 24th March 2021
RE: Online Port Elizabeth Technical Talk – Health & Safety by Morne’ Oosthuizen: 24th March 2021.
Trust everyone is safe and in good health? For our next online Technical Talk, we are very happy to have
Morne’ Oosthuizen, Senior Health & Safety Consultant at Labournet, Port Elizabeth.
The sudden arrival and consequent chaos trailing COVID-19 has shifted our focus completely, not just at work but in every aspect of our lives. The awareness of Health & Safety principals is probably the highest it has ever been, certainly in our lifetime, and it might very well continue as the end is not in sight and might not be for a few years to come.
We need to take advantage of the current pandemic. We must, not waste this opportunity to teach, train and equip people going forward. Health & Safety, or better yet, our understanding of Health & Safety has been warped for years and we need to change the way we do things.
What is Health & Safety really? Why are we still killing people at work? What does the Occupational Health & Safety Act really say about my responsibility as an employer and what about my employees?
Please join us as we look at Health & Safety in a way you might never have before, and in doing so, understand our Legal Liability and how to navigate the confusion around Health & Safety that reigns in many companies and organizations in South Africa.
Please register in advance for the Zoom Meeting link below
Please note that your entry is muted (Video & sound) for the sake of keeping the online traffic as low as possible. We will open this for discussion regarding the topic after the presentation. Please feel free to ask questions in the chat section during the presentation. We will have a Q & A session at the end of the meeting and hopefully cover any related questions you might have.
