Dates for your diary – IOR events for October
The IOR has a packed schedule of events for October covering various topics including the future of refrigeration and attracting future talent to the field.
The events, which are all taking place online, are covering a wide range of subjects appealing to all types of engineers, technicians and support staff working in the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump sectors. Some events will be only available to members which is why we’re emailing to let you know about them.
Ø What is the skillset for RACHP Design Engineers – 1 October
This webinar will explore the skills, knowledge and behaviours that the industry requires of engineers working in the design and applications field and will answer topical questions including how the current and future skills shortages should be addressed and how training should be made available. Ø South West Cool Talk – 5 October
The South West and South Wales Refrigeration Society will be hosting its first ever online Cool Talk in conjunction with the IOR. It will provide a platform for engineers and technicians to raise issues and ask questions of manufacturers and suppliers. Register here.

EXCLUSIVE EVENT FOR IOR AND RACHP ENGINEER MEMBERS
The first online event available only to IOR members will be a talk on the Past, Present and Future of Refrigeration by international award winning speaker, Eckhard Groll which will take delegates on a journey from an initial historical review of refrigeration to modern technologies with an emphasis on heating and cooling applications. Ø Promoting science in schools with STEM learning – 28 October
Would you like to inspire the next generation of RACHP engineers? Join us for this online event which will look at the role of STEM learning and the STEM ambassadors programme (Science Technology Education and Maths). Members hosting the webchat will share their experience of promoting refrigeration and air conditioning science at school events and careers fairs.
