SAIRAC 72nd National Council AGM held in Johannesburg on 27th July 2023.

Fellow Luncheon held on 21 October at the Johannesburg Country Club.
Guest Speaker: Fanie de Villiers
Fellows who received Laptop bags as a gift: B.M. Richardson, P.W. Burke, R. Savvides, R. Burns, R. Hannah
On Friday the 21st of October, SAIRAC Johannesburg hosted their Annual Fellows Lunch at The Country Club Johannesburg.
The Fellows lunch, provides an opportunity for those within the Refrigeration and Airconditioning industry, to give thanks, and to honour, the Fellows who have shaped and nurtured our industry, into what it is today. The title “Fellow” requires a minimum membership to SAIRAC of 10 years, and is awarded to those who have shown significant performance, with recognised contributions to the industry (Amongst other criteria).
The event kicked off with guest speak, Former Proteas Fast Bowler: Fanie De Villiers. Fanie regaled those in attendance with stories of his cricket career, and gave his candid opinion, of the current state of Cricket in South Africa When asked how he thought The Proteas would fair in the upcoming T20 World Cup, Fanie was unfortunately correct when he predicted that we would require ” a lot of luck” to make the semi-final stage of the tournament.
Lunch was then served, and the Johannesburg Country Club was impressive as ever, providing a beautiful backdrop to accompany the excellent food and service that we have come to expect.
After lunch had wrapped, it was time for the main event. Johannesburg Chairman, Gregory Grobbelaar, opened with a message of thanks to all the Fellows. Most of whom, have had an integral part in the setting of standards, and dissemination of knowledge, within the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Their efforts have directly contributed to the growth and stability of the SAIRAC institution. As a token of appreciation, each Fellow was called up and received a gift from Johannesburg Chairman Gregory Grobbelaar, and former SAIRAC president, Jaco Pieterse.
SAIRAC would like to thank everybody that attended the Annual Fellows Lunch. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and instrumental to the sustainability and continuous growth of our institution. We look forward to hosting new and old faces at our Dreosti Memorial Lecture which will be held in June 2023
*Guest Speaker To Be Confirmed
Dr Johannsen said, and I quote,“ Congratulations too SAIRAC on the 70th Platinum Jubilee Anniversary. Over 55 years of my membership (not quite 70 – yet) I have been privileged to witness a continues growth in SAIRAC’s stature, in its membership, and in the quality of its services to the industry. I wish to thank all SAIRAC Officers, past and present, as well as SAIRAC members for their contributions and hard work over the years to come.”
