The South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SAIRAC) held its 2017 fellow lunch at the Woodmead Country Club, drawing a full room of familiar faces. This has always been an industry highlight; often also a rare chance to see some industry legends who aren’t as involved anymore.
After a few formalities and an official welcome, Johannesburg centre chairman, Jaco Pieterse, called up the various fellows to receive a small token of gratitude from SAIRAC, honouring them for their long-standing commitment to the association and the industry.
Currently, there are 17 fellows in Johannesburg, 9 who were in attendance on the day. Overall, SAIRAC has 56 fellows in total nationwide.
After a few photos, everyone enjoyed the live entertainer Iggie Orfer who told a few jokes while playing various musical instruments. A delicious buffet lunch followed with some more classics coming from Orfer’s music corner where he later took requests.
